This started as a collection of deep thoughts on various matters but has evolved into an outlet for most of my textual creativity and includes prose and free verse as well. Please comment whenever you get the urge (mental masturbation gets dull after awhile) and don't worry if it was posted a while ago; although the field of ideas may always look the same, each blade of grass still grows.
My interests and community memberships speak a lot to what sort of person I am, better than me trying to simply say it, so that's why I don't have a traditional bio here. If you want to know about me, read my LJ and/or talk to me. ^_^
I am a dragon in a human body: a maelstrom of opposites, a chimeric blend of many aspects -- dynamic, energetic -- that many never see, and much that wishes to get out, but my fear of emerging too quickly keeps me from opening up more that a measured amount under normal circumstances. If I get too excited or angry, my wings tend to bump into things and people, to disastrous effect. I am an INTP Myers-Briggs personality type, which explains a lot . . .
I am honored if you choose to list me as a friend, but I would appreciate some sort of communication, whether a comment or an email, with a reason why you listed me.
I am Child Free. I have no desire to create genetic children, never did, and never will. Don't try to convince me otherwise or else I may say something unpleasant. Just be glad my little geniuses won't be beating your little brats out in Life, because they would.
I am an Agnostic Humanist. I don't know if a god exists and I don't care. If what I'm doing is good enough for a god to admit me to an afterlife, that's nice. If not, I didn't want to go there anyway and would be happier in hell with Gandhi.
I am a Naval Officer. I served three years on Active Duty (stationed in Japan) and am currently in the Selected Reserve. I hate chickenhawks and will not hesitate to make them feel very ashamed of themselves. I believe that everyone (females and males) should sign up for Selective Service and that minimum mandatory military service is a good thing.
Why these? Because, unlike those adjectives dictated by genes and other factors beyond my control, these are what I have chosen freely for myself and therefore are things I am proud of.
